Alexia McLean is a professional saxophonist and a dedicated educator both in the Baton Rouge area and online. Along with her private studio, Alexia has been a critically acclaimed teacher of saxophone, flute, clarinet, and ukulele lessons since 2014. She works diligently to cultivate an environment of music appreciation. She is currently the School of Music Recruiter at Louisiana State University, where she oversees recruitment, outreach efforts, and music admissions. 

As a performer, Alexia has performed at the 2017 NASA Regional 6 Conference, with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and with the LSU Threepenny (Die Dreigroschenoper) Opera. She placed first in the graduate division of the 2018 NOLA Chamberfest with the Magnolia Saxophone Quartet. She also participated in the 2017 Ocala Symphony Young Artist Competition and has premiered works for composers Jase Nugent and Luciano Correa. She currently performs as a soloist and has recently performed in Duo Vim. The saxophone duet has given a masterclass and performed a Guest Artist Recital at the University of North Florida.  

Alexia furthered her education at various universities, with her highest level earned as a Master of Music from Louisiana State University, under Dr. Griffin Campbell. She completed her Bachelor of Music Performance at the University of North Florida under Dr. Michael Bovenzi and studied with Jeremy Williamson at Seminole State College. 

Alexia performs exclusively on Selmer saxophones.
