With his students, Andy focuses on several aspects of music that are necessary to fully developing control, understanding of a style's musical language, and overall musicianship. This includes working on reading (for most students), scale and harmonic knowledge and function, rhythm and ear training (all of which falls under the umbrella of technique and music theory), and finally performance skills. With this in mind, Andy believes first and foremost in supporting and developing what musically inspires a student, as inspiration is the key to success and enjoyment.
