Rich's Musical Journey
Rich is an accomplished drummer who has been playing music since the age of 14. At the young age of 15, Rich began playing in bands in the San Francisco Bay area. He played in an array of cover bands, performing five nights a week to improve his skills. By the age of 20, he was a proficient drummer performing regularly throughout the Bay area club scene.
Over the course of his career, Rich has continued to thrive as a performer. Some highlights from Rich's musical career include auditioning for Ozzy Osbourne and earning a second call back, as well as opening up for many big-name acts such as Pat Benatar, Blue Oyster Cult, Y & T, and Bret Michaels of Poison.
While he has had much success as a performer, Rich's musical skills extend far beyond the stage. Rich has been teaching drum lessons for over 30 years. His zealous approach to teaching is unintimidating, and the objective is for each student to have fun while learning and improving their skills. He enjoys the one-on-one interaction that he gets with his students, and he enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
Rich currently resides in Denver, Colorado, and aside from playing live and teaching, he has played on numerous albums and does studio work as well. He is also the author of the instructional book Twisteddrums: A Dynamic Approach to Drumming Independence.
