Abel's Musical Journey
Abel is a multi-instrumentalist native to San Antonio, Texas who was raised in a household of musicians. As the child of music ministers, he began singing in the choir at the age of 3 and playing bass guitar and guitar in his family's church at the age of 11. He went on to attend the North East School of the Arts for high school, where he developed an interest in songwriting and film scoring, composing for plays and student films while performing in the orchestra and theatre pit. Abel took on his first music student in 2014, when he was still in high school. He began learning to play the piano around this time as well. He graduated magna cum laude in 2017.
After graduating from high school, Abel's passion for music and storytelling led him to Berklee College of Music, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Professional Music in 2021. While there, Abel started learning how to play the drums to further his composition and production abilities. He was also awarded the Berklee College of Music Songwriting Department Award.
Abel moved to Atlanta in 2022. Since then, Abel has continued to teach in various settings while maintaining a career as a guitarist and producer. At this point, Abel has over a decade of private teaching experience under his belt, so he has developed a tailored approach that blends students' interests with music fundamentals. Specializing in teaching with young musicians and beginners, as well as musicians looking to elevate their skills in composition and improvisation, he finds the greatest joy in helping each student discover their unique learning style.
