Steve's Musical Journey
Steven Ettling is a highly skilled guitarist, pianist, singer, recording engineer, producer, and songwriter. He completed his formal music education at one of the best contemporary guitar schools in the world: Musicians Institute. While attending Musicians Institute, Steve learned a wide variety of music styles and also had wonderful opportunities to study and play with some of the best teachers and students. During that time, he produced and worked on projects for members of Melissa Ethridge and jazz virtuoso Marcus Singletary.
Steve is a successful performer, and is best known for playing with virtuoso players such as Paul Gilbert, Dan Gilbert, Chris Broderick, and other top guitarists and musicians in the business. He has also performed with one of the largest Christian bands in Los Angeles, playing for thousands of people as a member of Press Play.
Steve is a talented music educator as well, and has over twenty years of teaching experience. His students' skillsets range from beginners to professional musicians. Steve's lesson plans are designed to be musical and fun. He wants his students to understand the language of music by studying their favorite bands and understanding the theory behind it. Steve adjusts his approach to fit his students and their unique goals. While each student is different, one thing that Steve believes is true for all is that the key to success is having a desire to learn and a passion for music.
When he isn't teaching, Steve works in a studio band and composes music for television and film.
